The Barentszstraat is located in a pleasant part of Amsterdam (Westerpark district): the pre-war “Zeeheldenbuurt/Sea heroes district”! This "Zeeheldeneiland/Sea heroes island" lies between the Western Islands, the southern IJ bank and the popular Spaarndammerbuurt. The Western Islands consist of Bickerseiland, Prinseneiland and Realeneiland in the centre of Amsterdam. They are located south of river ‘t IJ, north of the railway line between Central Station and Amsterdam-Sloterdijk and west of the Westerdok.
It is like a small world in itself. The historical environment is very suitable for walks and nowadays often the setting for filming. It is not without reason that the Zeeheldenbuurt is one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Amsterdam! Living in a village right in the centre: a unique oasis of peace with all the conveniences of the city.
Near the lovely Westerpark for the necessary relaxation or in the summer months enjoy the city beach or a show at nearby Het Stenen Hoofd’. You can do your daily shopping on foot on the cosy Haarlemmerstraat /-dijk. Two steps further and you are in the bustling Jordaan. Numerous shops, cafés and restaurants are located in the vicinity such as Meneer Nieges, BAK, Wijncafé Worst, Bickers aan de Werf and Marius. Via the Pontsteiger you can easily reach the north of Amsterdam and the creative and culinary NDSM terrain by ferry. Recreation area het Twiske can be reached in just 15 minutes by bike, which will take you to the north side of river ‘t IJ for free in a few minutes. The Central Station is within walking distance, but there are also several public transportation options. By car you will be on the Ring A10 via the S101-S103 within 10 minutes.

In short: spacious and quiet living on a very central and pleasant city location!

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
