Description

BILDERDIJKKADE 16-A3, 1052 RW AMSTERDAM

We are offering this residence on the upper floors (approx. 120m˛), to be renovated entirely to your own taste, located in a beautiful spot in Amsterdam Oud-West, with a view out over the Bilderdijkgracht. The association of owners has already given its permission to combine the two floors and to lay down a roof terrace.

Location:
The apartment is located in the desirable West urban district and is almost right next to the waters of the Bilderdijkkade. The Kinkerstraat, de Clercqstraat and Bilderdijkstraat, with all their shops and welcoming cafés and restaurants, are in the vicinity.

Layout:
Third floor:
Entrance, hallway with access to all the rooms. Enormous open living room with a whimsical bay window at the front of the building offering a gorgeous view out over the canal. At the rear of the building the living room offers access to the west-facing balcony through French windows. The kitchen is situated at the rear of the building and also offers access to the balcony. The bathroom is also at the rear and has a bath, shower and sink unit. The first bedroom is at the front of the building. Access to the fourth and uppermost floor is by means of an internal staircase.

Fourth floor:
Hallway with access to two enormous bedrooms. The separate storage may also be connected to the residence and offers space for a staircase to the roof, where a roof terrace could be laid out. The association of owners has given permission for this but the local authority planning permission and licence must be applied for at the expense and risk of the purchaser.

Bilderdijkkade:
Willem Bilderdijk (1756-1831), poet and historian. Bilderdijk went against the dull spirit of his time and was, therefore, a very controversial figure. The name Bilderdijkstraat was originally applied all the way down to the Vondelstraat. (That section from the Jacob van Lennepkade is currently called Eerste Constantijn Huygenstraat. (Rb. 21-3-1894.) The Bilderdijkpark (park and street) was laid out on the site of the cemetery of the former Roman Catholic church ‘De Liefde’. (Source: Stadsatlas Amsterdam)

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Your purchasing agent knows the market like no other

When you enlist the services of a purchasing agent who is affiliated with the MVA or NVM, you can be sure he or she knows all the ins and outs of the relevant market. Especially when housing prices are volatile, you can be assured that your estate agent is taking all the necessary factors into account.

Apartments

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. In case of an apartment, you do not only have neighbours to your left and right, but often also above or underneath you. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
