On the idyllic Achterlaan in Zunderdorp lies this villa with an unobstructed view to both the front and the back!

Zunderdorp (formerly "Sundeldorp") is a village in Landelijk Noord in the Dutch municipality of Amsterdam (prov. North Holland). The village has a few dozen houses and some other buildings, including the church of Zunderdorp. Several houses are made of wood. The village has 463 inhabitants.

Originally Zunderdorp was the main village of the banne Sundeldorp/Sindeldorp. It was later outstripped by Nieuwendam, located on the IJ. Until 1921 the village was part of the municipality of Nieuwendam, which in that year merged into the municipality of Amsterdam. Sundels", the word from which the name Zunderdorp comes, were narrow canals, which flowed from the village to the IJ.*

The house is situated on a beautiful, child friendly (dead end) piece of land with only local traffic and surrounded by many meadows and water. With Amsterdam within cycling distance and all the peace and quiet of a village, the perfect combination.

Here you experience the village feeling and yet you are within 10 minutes to the A10 ring road, IJtunnel, the North/South metro line or the ferry to Central Station! Comfortable living in a rural setting and yet all the amenities of the city at your fingertips: that's living in Zunderdorp!

When you enter this house you immediately experience the cozy atmosphere and luxurious finish. After the entrance you enter a spacious hallway. In the hall there are doors to the kitchen, living room, toilet and a storage closet. In the living room is a rustic, new and well maintained oak herringbone floor and all walls are beautifully finished, smooth plastered. The room exudes one and all tranquility. The seating area is located on the front of the house. Large windows provide plenty of light and give a view of the surrounding garden. At the rear of the house is the dining area situated and you will find a door to the garden that connects the living room with the spacious and sunny garden.

Sleeping area
On the second floor there are 3 bedrooms which are finished with carpeting and plastered walls. The large bedroom on the left is huge and has a balcony with beautiful views. The spacious bathroom is luxuriously finished and equipped with a toilet, a spacious walk-in shower and a double sink.

MVA neighbourhood information: Waterland

Surrounded by meadows Broek in Waterland seems to be a real farming village. However it used to be a small port village, where captains and rich merchants lived during the 17th century. Their money made Broek in Waterland one of the most prosperous villages of Waterland. These merchants built big houses with beautiful interiors, some of these monumental houses are still in their original state.

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.
