The Zaandam railway station is only 5 minutes by bike and from there you can reach Amsterdam Central Station in 12 minutes and Schiphol Airport in 18 minutes, both with direct connections.

You can reach the A8 motorway in less than 10 minutes by car, via which you can quickly reach the A10 ring road. Schiphol Airport is a short half-hour drive away. Zaandam has a number of beautiful parks, including the Darwin Park, containing the city farm, which are nice places to relax. There are also various sports facilities that can be easily reached by bicycle. You will not find primary and secondary schools on Het Eiland itself, but they are easily accessible by bicycle or car.

Layout:
Ground floor: through the front garden, with parking space on private land, you come to the entrance. Spacious entrance with wardrobe and meter box and access to the indoor garage, the wall-mounted toilet with fountain, the stairs to the second and third floors and the short, wide stairs to the garden-oriented living room.

First floor: from the bright living room you have a view of the beautiful garden. The floor is tiled in a light color scheme and the rear wall consists almost entirely of a glass front with sliding doors to the terrace and the garden. The room has an open, sunny atmosphere and in winter you can relax by the wood-burning stove. The walls and ceilings on the ground floor have a neat finish. The entrance, downstairs toilet, living room and kitchen have underfloor heating.

Via a short staircase at the rear of the living room you reach the higher situated dining room (second floor) with open kitchen. This room is located at the front of the house and has doors with a French balcony. From the open kitchen and the dining room you have a view of the living room and from the high windows at the front of the dining room you overlook the front garden and the quiet street. On the floor of the dining room are tiles that run through the U-shaped kitchen. The kitchen has light fronts, sufficient cupboard space and all modern appliances are present, including a combi oven at eye level, a gas cooker with extractor hood, a dishwasher and a fridge-freezer. During cooking you can still keep in touch with the lower living room.

Through the open staircase in the entrance you enter a small landing which also gives access to the dining room and the living room. Via the landing of the second floor a fixed upholstered staircase (with side lights) leads to the third floor. Here you will find two spacious bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom. The bedroom at the front has wide windows and a fixed closet with sliding doors. The bedroom at the rear also has high windows and afixed storage closet. In the neatly tiled bathroom you will find a bathtub, a shower cabin, a vanity unit with a wide sink and a mirror, and a toilet. Recessed spotlights are incorporated in the ceiling. Stainless steel railings have been installed on all floors, except the 4th.

Via a fixed staircase you reach the fourth floor. Here you will find another bedroom with its own bathroom with shower and sink. There is also an enclosed space for the washing machine and dryer on this floor, and a lot of extra storage space.

Garden: from the living room you enter a broad terrace, and via a staircase you reach the beautifully landscaped garden with a number of terraces and green roofs. There is room for a large garden table to eat at and there are several romantic lounge areas. The green garden, including a pond, is truly a feast for the eyes. The garden ends at the water, here you have the possibility to moor a boat, or raft. From the garden you have a beautiful view of the water with the passing ships. Do you own a boat?
