This unique apartment with a loft-like living room was originally the gym in an old primary school and is characterized by its industrial layout including steel doors, high ceilings, a high-quality finish, huge windows (which allow a lot of light) and the spacious, very sunny garden, which is situated on the south.

The location of the apartment is ideal. The Hoofddorppleinbuurt has several cozy cafes and restaurants, such as cafe van Mechelen, Gent aan de Schinkel, Ron Gastrobar, Caffenation, Foodbar 63 degrees and Lokaal van de Stad.
In addition, there is an attractive and varied range of shops.

You don't have to go far for daily shopping and various day-cares and playgrounds are also within walking distance.
You can reach the centre within 10 minutes by bike and within 5 minutes you can walk into the Vondelpark.

The accessibility is very good. The Ring A10 is three minutes away by car and the stops for public transport (trams 1, 17 and bus 15, 62 and 358) are within walking distance.

The communal entrance, which you only share with the upstairs neighbours, gives access to the hall of the house on the ground floor.

Via the hall you get to the two bedrooms, the first bathroom, a separate toilet, the internal storage room and the wonderfully luxurious and very bright living room.

At the front are the first two bedrooms, both with mechanical ventilation. The bedrooms partly have a high ceiling and can be used as children's rooms.

The bathroom has just been finished and has a bath, walk-in shower and sink.
Next to the bathroom is the very large storage room, which currently serves as a laundry room and offers sufficient space for storage.

At the rear is the spectacular living room with insanely high windows (4.4 meters) overlooking the very green, well-kept and sun-drenched garden.

The living room consists of two levels and is very bright. The seating area is partly covered by the loft, creating a cozy seating area with a floor-to-ceiling bookcase and a handy workplace.

The luxury kitchen on the garden side has a cooking island with bar area and has a 6-burner stove, grill plate, extractor hood and a dishwasher. The high-ceiling doors give access to the beautifully landscaped garden.

This green oasis of no less than 140 m2 offers shade or sun in various places for the enthusiast at any time of the day.
An electric sunshade has been installed on the rear facade, which is located over the entire width, so that extra shade can be created on sunny days.

In the apartment, the staircase to the loft is equipped with the original gym floor blocks and designed as a grandstand so that the stairs can be used for multiple purposes.

The loft has a second sitting area which is currently used as a play and TV room. From here you have a great view over the lower part of the apartment.

On this floor is also the very spacious master bedroom with electric curtains and the entire light system is from Philips Hue.

The walk-in closet and bathroom can be reached from the master bedroom. The bathroom has a double shower. In addition, the bathroom has a toilet and a double sink.

At the back of the garden is a brand new garden house (2020), perfect to use as extra sleeping accommodation, for example for guests or an au pair, as a workplace or as a lounge area for the children! The garden house has a cozy living room with harmonica doors on the garden side, a fully equipped bathroom and kitchenette. The garden house is 27 square meters and is not included in the 189m2 for the main property.

The apartment has a complete finish and both floors have partly concrete, partly cast floors. In addition, there is partial underfloor heating.

In short: a unique and very cool apartment with an incredibly sunny garden and a practical garden house. A lovely family home or ultimate bachelor pad. Make an appointment quickly to come and see this pearl in the Hoofddorppleinbuurt!

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. In case of an apartment, you do not only have neighbours to your left and right, but often also above or underneath you. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
