This turn-key apartment is on the ground floor of a building, originally built in 1910, situated on freehold land. The house has recently been renovated; the renovation works including the indoor paintwork and the wooden floorboard sanded and treated. One of the most striking features is the fact that the front of the apartment can be opened up entirely, thus bringing the feeling of being outside indoors.

The Home Owners’ Association (VvE) ‘Blasiusstraat 12 te Amsterdam’ consists of five members. The service charges are €129.18 per month and VvE is professionally managed. The members convene at least once a year.

The private entrance opens up directly into the living room situated at the front of the building. The meter cupboard is next to the front door. Halfway the living room is a large built-in cupboard under the stairs, after which the living room continues into the modern open-plan kitchen. The kitchen has high-gloss white handle-free cupboards and drawers and a natural stone worktop. The kitchen also includes several built-in appliances.

The good-sized bathroom is situated opposite the kitchen and has been finished with sand-coloured floor tiles and white walls. The bathroom includes a bath, a walk-in shower (rainshower head and a hand-held shower), and a broad, white washbasin unit offering storage space.

The two bedrooms are at the back of the apartment. Both have French doors leading to the pleasant, south-facing garden. The garden has a surface area of approx. 27 m2 and is fully tiled. The bedroom on the left also has bespoke wardrobes.

In between the bathroom and the bedrooms, you will find a separate toilet and another large built-in closet with the white goods connections and the central heating/boiler installation.

The entire apartment has beautiful oak parquet flooring, double glazing, modern panelled doors, and smooth stuccoed walls and ceilings with downlights.

The home is located in the Swammerdambuurt. The area of the Blasiusstraat is a much sought-after residential environment: it is a beautiful and quiet one-way street where only access traffic is allowed. It is very centrally located in between the Wibautstraat and the Weesperzijde. The Weesperzijde makes for a lovely walk alongside the Amstel river. Within minutes you find yourself in the bustling and popular 'De Pijp' district where you can shop to your heart's content. But this district is also known for its cafés, restaurants and of course the open-air market: Albert Cuypmarkt. The area of the Nieuwe Amstelbrug has ample places of entertainment to explore as well as a wealth of restaurants. Who doesn't want to visit the Theater Carré, the beautiful Amstelhotel or De Ysbreeker restaurant. Just a little further along you will even find the National Opera & Ballet. Should you crave a juicy steak, why not check out Loetje, a household name in Amsterdam. There is also a big supermarket (Albert Heijn) around the corner. The apartment is located in between two good parks: the Oosterpark and the Sarphatipark. Lots of green and playgrounds for children. There are also various day care centres and primary schools in this neighbourhood.

This area is easily accessible by public transport as well as by car. Tram 3 stop and Wibautstraat underground station – with a fast connection to the Amsterdam Central Station and Amstel station – are within walking distance. The Amstel train station is a mere 5 minute bike ride away. By car, even in rush hour, it only takes 5 minutes to get to the A10 ring road.

There is paid on-street parking (Mon-Sat from 09:00 - 24:00, free on Sundays) and residents can apply for a parking permit. According to the website of the Amsterdam municipality, there is a waiting list for parking permits (waiting list details per 18 November 2020, permit area Oost-1 Swammerdam).

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. In case of an apartment, you do not only have neighbours to your left and right, but often also above or underneath you. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
