The water villa, comprising of 3 floors, is the first house on the right at the second jetty, Brigantijnkade 16. This striking, blue water villa offers splendid and unobstructed views from the roof terrace. The unique artwork on the outside was designed by Laurence Aëgerter as a homage and with a nod to both the pioneering missions of NASA and the municipality of Amsterdam for its pioneering idea to build the first residential neighbourhood on water. The three floors all have a bathroom and toilet, making the villa also suitable for renting out. The technical installations are all tucked away in a room next to the entrance.

Entrance, hallway, guest toilet with washstand, laundry closet with white goods connections, staircase to the basement, staircase to the first floor, and access to the living room. The living room features stunning ceiling-high (corner) windows that let in lots of natural light and offer magnificent views of the water. To the side, you enter the modern, open-plan kitchen with white units, a grey melange worktop, and various built-in appliances. This floor also has a bathroom with a shower cabin and a washbasin unit.

The stairs down to the basement lead straight into the second kitchen. This kitchen has red/white units and a grey melange worktop, as well as several built-in appliances and a large storage cupboard that also contains the sewage pump. There are two bedrooms in the basement, both with en-suite bathrooms. The two bathrooms have the same finish and include a toilet, a washbasin, and a shower cabin.

The landing on the first floor gives access to the roof terrace and the 3rd bedroom. The pantry on the landing next to the roof terrace is hugely practical. The bedroom has sliding doors on both sides, leading to the roof terrace of 32 m2. The bathroom on this floor has a washbasin, a shower, and a toilet.

When not required as a bedroom, this room can also be perfectly used as an office or as an additional living room.

The water villa has been beautifully finished with anthracite floor tiles, built-in lighting, and smoothly stuccoed walls.

The villa has its own parking space in the nearby parking garage on the Brigantijnkade (VvE [Home Owners’Association] Noordbuurt Steigereiland Blok C). The ground leases of the parking space, as well as that of the plot itself, have been bought off to 30 September 2059. The service charges are €17.77 per month. The VvE is professionally managed by Van 't Hof Rijnland Vastgoedmanagement. A multi-annual maintenance forecast is available.

IJburg is surrounded by water and is a quiet and inspiring environment. This type of residence, named Lakeside, is situated in Waterbuurt West on the Steigereiland in IJburg. The project consists of a unique neighbourhood with 55 floating houses and 20 stilt houses designed by the widely acclaimed architect Marlies Rohmer. The residences, together with space to moor small boats on the jetties, create a marina atmosphere and the open water of the Markermeer is easy to reach via the lock in the Haringbuisdijk.

IJburg is an amazing location to live, with Amsterdam city centre at just 10 minutes by tram 26 and the A10 Ring just a minute's drive. De Zuidas can be reached within 11 minutes and getting to Schiphol Airport will take no more than 20 minutes. A wide array of nurseries and out-of-school facilities, as well as primary schools, can be found within walking distance. Older children can easily cycle to the various nearby secondary schools and sports clubs. Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.
