SURROUNDINGS
The Sloterplas is the pride of Nieuw-West. In 2017, the northern bank of the Sloterplas was designated a municipal protected cityscape. This beautiful area is located a short cycling distance from the center. The district is quiet, spacious and green. The area around the Sloterplas is in full development. You can see this not only in the new neighborhood tents such as Hotel Buiten (good terrace!), Puck and De School, but also in the new Van Eesteren pavilion and the renewed swimming beach. Swimming in the Sloterparkbad, boating on the Sloterplas, a round of running or walking, a game of tennis, everything is possible here.

MVA neighbourhood information: Slotermeer-Zuidwest

Geuzenveld was built during the 1950s and 1960s and is part of the western Garden-villages. Slotermeer was the first western garden village which was designed by the principles of the General Expansion Plan. This plan included building houses which had as much sun and natural sunlight as possible. A part of Slotermeer has a protected city view, which means that this part has a protected development plan and several other restrictions. The main reason for this protection is because this area is one of the greenest parts of Amsterdam with more than four parks available.
