Description

Unique object!! In the beautiful “Villa Casparus” which is located on the edge of the center of Weesp, we are proud to sell a fantastic apartment (198m2) located on the ground floor with a south-facing garden.

Have a look at the virtual tour.

A unique villa with a rich history, luxurious appearance and a select number of apartments. The uniqueness lies mainly in the history of the building: built in 1901 by chocolate maker Casparus van Houten, founder of the Van Houten Cacao, who loved spacious living: the house originally contained 99 rooms! In 1950 the villa was used by bicycle factory Magnet, to be restored to its full glory in 2002, resulting in 9 luxury apartments, all with a private parking space in front of the door and a communal garden with pond.

The entrance of the villa is impressive with the spacious hall and the stained glass atrium.
When entering the house from the hall, the luxurious appearance is immediately noticeable due to the abundance of light and the high ceiling (approximately 4.5 m). It is possible to create an extra floor (the neighbors have also done this). The hall provides access to the dining room with French doors and on the left the spacious living room with conservatory. Thanks to the many windows, the living room is very light and looks even more spacious than it already is. On the other side of the dining room is the living/living kitchen with coil island. The kitchen is equipped with various built-in appliances such as: an oven, microwave, 5-burner gas stove, extractor hood, coil island, dishwasher, fridge with separate freezer and lots of cupboard space. The kitchen provides access to the storage room located under the house and the garden through French doors.

From the hall you also have access to the luxurious toilet with wall closet and a sink with furniture to enter the 2 bedrooms, these are very spacious and light. Both bedrooms have a large built-in wardrobe. The spacious bathroom has recently been completely renovated and is equipped with a large walk-in rain shower, double sink with furniture, design radiator and a 2nd toilet. There is also a 2nd bathroom / walk-in rain shower, originally made for the guests. The storage cupboard is equipped with the washing machine / dryer connection and the central heating boiler.

Garden:
The garden is located at the rear of the villa and has been completely renovated in 2021 and also equipped with new lighting. From the garden there is a beautiful view over the communal courtyard with the pond and the "Smal Weesp". The iron gates that give access to the communal courtyard garden are handmade in Morocco by the artisan of the Kasbah Tamadot Richard Branson hotel. The garden is located on the south.

Storage:
The storage room is located under the house and can be reached via the stairs in the kitchen. This was refurbished in 2021 and can possibly be used as extra living space, such as a fitness room, wine cellar or office.

Surroundings:
Weesp is located between Amsterdam and 't Gooi. Within walking distance of the apartment is the historic center with shops and restaurants and the NS station (from which Amsterdam CS is only 12 minutes and Schiphol 22 minutes) and in the immediate vicinity are roads to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Hilversum and Schiphol. Opposite the Casparus complex is the shopping center “Hogeweij”.
