Description

Churchill-laan 142-2, 1078 AR Amsterdam

Light and airy apartment of approx. 153 m located on the second and fourth floor with a sunny roof terrace. This apartment has a private entrance, two bathrooms, three bedrooms and the possibility to create a fourth bedroom: this is the ideal family home! The home was completely renovated (architect-designed) in 2011 during which its typical 1930s style was maintained while integrating design elements: with original decorative picture moldings, a gorgeous oak herringbone floor with a border, a bay window, and modern design radiators. The ground lease is paid off until 2048!

Location and accessibility:
The apartment is located on the stately Churchill-laan: a wide avenue with a landscaping in the middle. The neighbourhood is part of the well-known Plan Zuid, designed by architect and master builder Berlage. Due to its unique character, this area was designated as an urban conservation area two years ago. The apartment is located between the Maasstraat and the Scheldestraat. This popular, child-friendly neighbourhood offers many cafs, restaurants, delicatessens, ice cream parlours, shops and supermarkets, but also good schools and day care. There are so many choices: a bite to eat at Bar Maas or l'Angolo, a glass of wine at the open-air terrace of Tap Zuid or perhaps go to Feduzzi instead? Within minutes by bicycle you will reach the Apollolaan, the Beethovenstraat or the hip neighbourhood De Pijp. The public swimming pool, De Mirandabad, and the river Amstel are perfect for sports lovers. The popular Albert Cuyp open-air market is only a five-minute bike ride away. This market, located on the Albert Cuypstraat, is open from Monday to Saturday (except for holidays) and even four times a year on Sunday. In short: this home is spacious and comfortable and has everything you could possibly need within reach.
The apartment is ideally located close to public transportation and nearby highways. Amsterdam city centre is only a short bicycle or tram ride away, and so is the financial district, the Zuidas, and Schiphol airport! The tram stop Maasstraat/Churchill-laan stops right in front of the door and it is only a couple of minutes by bike to the Noord/Zuidlijn at Europaplein to catch a metro. The train stations Amsterdam RAI, Amsterdam Zuid and Amsterdam Amstel are all very close and easy to reach by bicycle too. This is also an ideal location if you own a car as you are very close to the A10 highway exit S109 and the start of the A2.

There is ample parking in this neighbourhood. According to the municipality of Amsterdam, as of 2 December 2019, there is no waiting list to obtain a parking permit for this area (Zuid 4.1.).

Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Apartments

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
