Luxurious and high quality renovated apartment of approx 66 m2 with 2 bedrooms and a large balcony, on a prime location in Amsterdam Oud West!
This house is part of a renovation project of a total of 6 apartments. Almost every apartment is unique and has something on offer for everyone. Striking about these houses is the width (approx. 5.7 meters) in combination with the high ceilings (approx. 2.8 meters). The large windows provide an abundance of light at both the front and rear.
During the renovation much attention was paid to the details and finishing. In all apartments is an oak floor and there are recessed spotlights. In addition, the layouts of the apartments are very efficient.
Entrance, you enter through your own front door from the porch. The living room is at the front of the apartment and invites to a playful layout. From your couch you have a great view over the water of the Da Costagracht. The handleless kitchen is matt white and has Bauknecht appliances such as a microwave, refrigerator, induction hob and dishwasher. The worktop is made of very durable composite.
The 2 bedrooms are located at the quiet rear of the house. The master bedroom is spacious and has access through double doors to the spacious balcony of approx 9 m2. The 2nd bedroom is also good size.
In the middle of the house is the bathroom which has a shower, bathtub and double sink. Here are also beautiful materials used such as large ceramic tiles with marble look and stainless steel taps from HotBath. From the hall are also a separate toilet and a closet for washer and dryer accessible.
The location is ideal: The Da Costabuurt is perfectly situated between the beautiful Jordaan and the bustling Ten Katebuurt. Here you have the best of both worlds. This child friendly & quiet part of the Da Costakade with its many nice and well known stores, pubs, cafes and eateries is a real joy to live in. The Food District is literally just around the corner! Despite its central location, this street is still quite quiet because there is little traffic. Supermarkets are nearby and schools and child care are in the proximity. Central Amsterdam is 5 minutes by bike and by car it takes 15 minutes to get to the Ring. Central station is less than 10 minutes away. You are exactly in between the Vondelpark and the Erasmuspark. By public transport you can reach the entire city by tram in no time.
The canal is named after the 19th century poet and prose writer Isańc da Costa (1798-1860). Besides the canal and the quay, there are also the Da Costastraat (parallel to the canal) and the Da Costaplein (in the street). On 14 August 1942, at the insistence of the German occupiers, a number of Amsterdam street names were changed by order of mayor Edward Voűte. These were streets named after the Dutch royal family or Jews. Until the end of the Second World War in 1945 it was called the Gouverneurskade.
