Schools and sports facilities can be found in the surrounding municipalities. For shopping, the shopping centre de Vijverhof in Avenhorn is 10 minutes away by bike.

In 10 car minutes you are in Hoorn and in 25 car minutes you are on the Ring around Amsterdam.

By public transport? In 5 minutes by bike you can reach the bus stop along the N247. Every 15 minutes there is a bus to Hoorn station (15 minutes) and Amsterdam central station (40 minutes).
