"Villa Dubbelebuurt" is originally a manufacturer's villa. The construction in 1885 was commissioned by Maurits Frans Pieper. He was director of the company H.P. Pieper en Zonen, which traded in chemicals, paint products and blue stone. The property was transferred in 1915 to Messrs Cremers, owners of the time-honoured insurance company C. Aviz D z. In 1937, a conservatory was built with, underneath, in the basement, a sturdy safe, which is still intact. The villa was extended in 1954 and 1962 with the addition of various office facilities. Wessanen's Royal Factories rearranged the villa in 1970 to accommodate Spanish guest workers.
The villa was then appropriately named "El Buen Hostal". In February 1986 the property was sold to the Mercurius Groep Wormerveer and it was converted into the head office of this company. The villa including extension has recently been rebuilt with 10 luxury apartments.
