Haarlemmermeer is one of the biggest municipalities in the Netherlands. Its main town is Hoofddorp. The city centre of Hoofddorp is in fact one big shopping mall, so in daytime there is a lot to do for those who like shopping. It is one of the largest towns in the Netherlands whose name is not linked to its municipality. This town, together with the rapidly growing towns of Nieuw-Vennep and Badhoevedorp, forms part of the Randstad agglomeration. The Netherlands' main international airport Schiphol is located in Haarlemmermeer.
