There is a large supermarket, a Hema, Etos and a Marqt on the Sloterkade. There is also a lot of choice in the immediate vicinity when it comes to cafes and restaurants. Think of: Gent aan de Schinkel, Café Oslo, Stadscafé van Mechelen, Drovers Dog, Lokaal van de Stad and the Vondeltuin. For sports and relaxation you can visit the Vondelpark and the Rembrandtpark, both a short walk away. The Amsterdamse Bos is only fifteen minutes by bike from this location.


The accessibility of this location is very good: the Ring road A10 can be reached within a minute via the S106. There are also various public transport options in the area. Tram lines 1 and 17 leave from Surinameplein to be at Lelylaan station in 5 minutes and from there within 10 minutes at Schiphol. From Hoofddorpplein you get on tram line 2. This will take you to the center and Central Station. Bus 15 runs via Haarlemmermeerstraat to Station Zuid and Station Sloterdijk. The center and other parts of the city can be reached in no time by bicycle, for example via the Vondelpark, the Hoofdweg and the Overtoom.

The Hoofddorppleinbuurt consists of three neighbourhoods: The Hoofddorppleinbuurt lies west of city part South and is parted of the other area’s by the Schinkel. The area has been built during the 20e century as part of Plan-West. The Hoofddorpplein forms the central traffic-point, many hospitality and shops can mainly be found within this part of the neighbourhood. Several things have changed in the last couple of years in this neighbourhood, let houses were renovated into condominiums and this attracted a lot of new people which had a positive impact on the neighbourhood.
