Description

BRIGHT ONE-BEDROOM APARTMENT OF 64M2 (GFA 71 M2), RENOVATED TO A HIGH AND LUXURY STANDARD AND WITH A KITCHEN THAT IS EVERY KEEN CHEF’S DREAM: A SIEMATIC S1 KITCHEN PLUS MEDIA WALL. THE WONDERFULLY QUIET BEDROOM AND COMFORTABLE BATHROOM ARE BOTH AT THE BACK. THIS SPLENDID APARTMENT IS PART OF A QUINTESSENTIAL BUILDING ON FREEHOLD LAND IN THE LIVELY NEIGHBOURHOOD ‘DE PIJP’.

This great apartment is on the first floor of a beautiful building that dates back to 1887 and was renovated to a very high standard in 2016. One of the most striking features is the taupe-coloured high-gloss Siematic type S1 kitchen with all the appliances (Miele) that a keen hobby chef will dream of. Other eye-catchers are the high glass-in-steel doors, the bathroom that has been redone beautifully, and the entire apartment has cast flooring with underfloor heating.

The Homeowners’ Association (VvE Hemonystraat 51) consists of 4 members and meets annually. The service charges are €50 per month.

LAYOUT
The communal staircase brings you to the first-floor landing with wooden floorboards and the private front door to the apartment.

Inside, you will be struck by the magnificent kitchen, which includes a long island with 2 gas burners, an induction wok hob with matching wok, and a grill. The island also includes broad drawers offering plenty of storage space, and a built-in dishwasher. The incorporated breakfast bar easily fits three people. The units against the kitchen wall include a large built-in fridge (with zero-degree drawers and a freezer compartment), an oven, and a separate steam oven. All media can be operated by sensory keys on the edge of the shelf while the operating panel of the media wall, which includes the TV screen and cabling for a PC, is incorporated in one of the drawers.

The seating area is at the front where the large windows and French doors to the southwest-facing Juliet balcony let in lots of natural light. You only have to open the doors to enjoy the afternoon sun with a glass of wine.

The bedroom is at the back, so you will not be disturbed by any street noise, and looks out over the courtyard gardens. The bedroom also has large windows (double-glazed) and integrated downlights.

The bathroom, also at the back of the apartment, has been finished in a soft colour scheme creating a very pleasant atmosphere. The bathroom features an oval-shaped matt white free-standing bath (Solid Surface), a walk-in shower with a modern drain, Hotbath taps, a design radiator, and a river stone washbasin.

Adjacent to the bathroom is the separate toilet and a built-in closet with the central heating unit (Remeha Avanta, 2016) and the white goods connection.

LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY
The apartment lies in the popular and trendy area called ‘De Pijp’. It is a neighbourhood where students, artists, first-time buyers, and workers enjoy their lives and the sociable atmosphere. The area offers a wide and varied range of great restaurants, trendy coffee places, cosy pubs, and lots of shops. There are plenty of supermarkets and other convenience stores around the corner on the Ceintuurbaan and the Van Woustraat. The Amstel river, the famous Albert Cuyp Market, and the Marie Heinekenplein are all within easy walking and cycling distance. Even though the apartment is in a very central location, the nearby Sarphatipark offers a perfect place to unwind. Public transport stops (trams 3 and 4) are just a stone's throw away and the A10 Ring and A1 and A2 motorways are just a few minutes by car. The recently opened North/South metro line offers excellent connections to Amsterdam-Noord and Amsterdam-Zuid.

PARKING
There is paid on-street parking (from 09:00 - 24:00 hours, except on Sundays) and residents can apply for a parking permit. According to the website of the Amsterdam municipality, there is a waiting list for parking permits (waiting list details per 8 April 2021, permit area Zuid 3.1 The Pijp).

More information

MVA neighbourhood information: Oude Pijp

De Pijp is vibrant and very much on its way up. As can be expected of an area that is centred on the nation’s most famous outdoor market Albert Cuypmarkt, this Amsterdam neighbourhood is famously diverse with over 150 nationalities represented. By the time the NZ-lijn underground metro is finished, De Pijp’s gentrification process should be complete with the always strong student population giving way to yet more families of young creatives and professionals. Albert Cuypmarkt Yes indeed: the Albert Cuypmarkt is not only the ‘kitchen of Amsterdam’ but also the place to witness the city in action. There are also many hidden treats to be discovered: innovative buildings built on the principles of Theosophy.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Your purchasing agent knows the market like no other

When you enlist the services of a purchasing agent who is affiliated with the MVA or NVM, you can be sure he or she knows all the ins and outs of the relevant market. Especially when housing prices are volatile, you can be assured that your estate agent is taking all the necessary factors into account.

Apartments

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. In case of an apartment, you do not only have neighbours to your left and right, but often also above or underneath you. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
