Description

Where in the centre of The Hague can you live quietly and surrounded by greenery? In this national monument, the exceptional former orphanage "Bastion Le Roi" from 1867, you will find a secure place with all the options to join in with the bustle of the city.

This exclusive city apartment distinguishes itself by the beautiful spacious living room with 4-metre-high ceiling and generous mezzanine, the open-planned kitchen, the large bedroom, modern bathroom, the extra-large storage space or guest room above the hall and the beautiful interior courtyard garden! Throughout the house there is a beautiful solid oak floor.
The private garage in the basement can be purchased separately for 30,000.

History
This national monument from 1867 was built as a Diaconal orphanage in sober eclectic brick architecture based on a design from 1862 by the architect E. Saraber. In 1925-1926 it was renovated by architect G. van Hoogevest. The orphanage kept its original function until 1942. In 1991, it was converted into apartments while preserving the authentic details.

Location
The apartment is very conveniently located on a canal at the beginning of the Avenue Culinaire in the bustling city centre of The Hague with surprisingly good parking and within walking distance of the Grote Markt, the shops, the station, particularly good public transport and many bars and restaurants. In addition, a petting zoo and the Spinozahof city oasis are also within walking distance.
