Hoogte Kadijk 416
We are offering you the Project “GEB Villa”, which lies on the border between Amsterdam Centrum and Oost. Five apartments, completely renovated to a high standard, fitted with all conceivable luxuries, situated in a property that used to belong to Gemeente-Energie Bedrijf (City Power Company) Amsterdam.

The location
The Berlage GEB-villa is located immediately opposite the restored former barracks on the Sarphatistraat, on the corner with the Hoogte Kadijk. The Entrepotdok and the Plantage neighbourhood with their various welcoming bars and cafés are in the immediate vicinity. Artis, the Hortus botanical garden, the Dapper market and the Tropenmuseum are all within a stone’s throw. Diagonally opposite the villa is an Albert Heijn and you can park the car in front of the door. There are various tram and bus stops within walking distance and Amsterdam Central station is only ten minutes cycle ride away.

Entrance, hall with access to the toilet with a small wash hand basin, and the living room. The light living room is spaciously laid out and has three large windows. Preparations have been made for the installation of a kitchen at the front of the building. There is access to a second hall from the living room with access to the two bedrooms. The master bedroom is definitely enormous and has an antechamber as well as a gorgeous open bathroom with a stand-alone bath (Corian/Solid Surface), double tropical rain shower, double sink unit and toilet. An open staircase takes you to the third room in the basement. This room could be used as a home office, a hobby room or a study.

Hoogte Kadijk
When a lot of land was reclaimed beyond the old sea dike (St. Antoniesdijk) a summer quay, or kadijk, was laid out. Originally people referred to it as the new sea dike but this name fell out of use. When a further raising of this new dike was done, people referred to the Laagte (Lower) and the Hoogte (Upper) parts of the Kadijk. Until 1943, the Tussen (Middle) Kadijken was called Korte Kerkstraat. This was because it followed the route of the Plantage Kerklaan, but was never connected to it.

MVA neighbourhood information: Oostelijke Eilanden/Kadijken

This area is known as the quiet part of Amsterdam Centrum. Amsterdam East is an environmentally friendly area with canals and important cultural buildings. These characteristics make this part of Amsterdam ideal as a residential area. Unlike downtown this area consists of many young couples who are starting with their careers. East and the eastern islands and the old harbor-area is still relatively vacant, but that will change in the upcoming years with the Weesper- and Plantagebuurt still in development.

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Your purchasing agent knows the market like no other

When you enlist the services of a purchasing agent who is affiliated with the MVA or NVM, you can be sure he or she knows all the ins and outs of the relevant market. Especially when housing prices are volatile, you can be assured that your estate agent is taking all the necessary factors into account.

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. In case of an apartment, you do not only have neighbours to your left and right, but often also above or underneath you. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
