For all kinds of specialty shops, restaurants, coffee shops and bars you can go to De Clercqstraat and Bilderdijkstraat. The Hugo de Grootplein, De Hallen and the Ten Katemarkt are also nearby and within a few minutes by bike you are in the Jordaan or in the center of Amsterdam.
In the coming years, the Food Center will be transformed into a high-quality residential area; the Market Quarter. The Monumental Market Hall is being renovated and promises to be a great place!

The public transport connections are excellent towards the center, CS and Sloterdijk! Tram 19 stops at Admiraal de Ruijterweg, bus 18 at Jan van Galenstraat and bus 80 and 82 stop at Willem de Zwijgerlaan. You can reach the A10 Amsterdam-West ring road within a few minutes by car and as far as parking is concerned, the street falls under the West 3.1 permit area and at the time of writing there is no waiting list for a parking permit.
