Leiden is a city and municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. The city is home to the oldest university of the Netherlands. It is also known for its rich history and old inner city, full of canals, city gates, bridges, mills, a stronghold, an observatory, the Hortus botanicus, weaver’s houses, courtyards, two big (late) Gothic churches and several monumental buildings.
