Voorschoten is a green village between The Hague, Leiden and Wassenaar. Here you can find polders with meadows, dunes, forests, natural and manmade parks, intersected by canals and peat bogs. This form was the result of ribbon development in the Middle Ages, and is still visible in the Voorstraat, which functioned as a marketplace.
