Located on the 1st floor with a view of the popular Merwedeplein, close to the Victorieplein in the Rivierenbuurt, we are proud to offer this home that you can refurbish and lay out entirely according to your taste.

The apartment is approximately 80 m2 and is located on the 1st floor with a separate entrance. The home currently has two bedrooms, a bathroom, separate toilet and closed kitchen. This is a former rented apartment which needs to be renovated internally.

The home is situated on the Merwedeplein in the Rivierenbuurt and forms part of the so-called ‘Hilwis’ complex. This complex was designed by the architect J.F. Staal. The Merwedeplein is a delightfully peaceful square with little traffic. There is a large grass field on the square where children can play. Anne Frank once played on this same grass field when she lived on Merwedeplein.

This section of the Rivierenbuurt is the nicest part of the district. The Rijnstraat, Maasstraat, Scheldestraat and the Amsteldijk are within walking distance. There are lots of shops and boutiques, supermarkets, delicatessens, pleasant restaurants and cafés. Examples include Tap Zuid on the Maasstraat or Café Vrijdag on the Amsteldijk. In addition, the vibrant Pijp district is also within easy reach, of course. The neighbourhood boasts lots of good amenities, such as schools, childcare centres and sports associations. The closest park is the Martin L. King park located on the Amstel.

The building is easily accessible, either by car from the RAI exit (S109) and Amstel exit (S111) via the ring road or one of the various tram stops in the neighbourhood (lines 4, 12 and 25). The Amstel train station is within easy walking distance.

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. In case of an apartment, you do not only have neighbours to your left and right, but often also above or underneath you. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
