Within walking distance of the Amsterdamse Bos is this detached mansion from 1926, where the owner has lived with great pleasure since 2010 and who hopes that the next owner will live there with same pleasure.
The house has been finished with an eye for detail and a sense of style. Each of the 155 square meters of floor space has been carefully designed. In addition, the original details and style features are extra eye-catching.
And who better to tell that than the seller himself. Matthew speaking:
“Built in 1926 by an area builder for his family this charming free-standing mansion is adorned with many first class features. For example, an entry foyer comprising circa 1890s art nouveau glass doors and windows sourced from France, mixed hardwood herringbone-patter flooring throughout and stained-glass transom windows and pocket doors. The builder, Mr. Corver, used the best building materials and modern techniques of the time that made this a house built to last. We followed in the tradition by using top quality materials as we renovated and enhanced the house. For example, installing custom-built double-glazing windows, modernizing the kitchen and bath with top brands (Siematic and Villeroy Boch), installing a cozy and highly-efficient wood-burning stove with custom-build mantel, installing classic wrought iron fencing, or restoring the hardwood floors to original condition. This followed the significant renovation of the previous owners to raise the roof and create an amazing 3rd floor living space.
This is a family home. On autumn and winter nights the glow of the fireplace radiated heat and warmth throughout the house and our heart as we enjoyed dinners, movie nights and holidays. 7 mature trees of varying kinds adorn the property, including flowering crab apple, magnolia, birch and cedar pines, that provided us with blossoms in spring, privacy in the garden in the summer months and greenery from the coniferous evergreens in the winter months (which we wrapped with lights at Christmas time).
This sturdy house, built with pride of craft by a builder for his family, lovingly carried our family through our children's primary years. We wish the same pride, joy and memories for the next so fortunate to own it”.
We can’t add any more to this than: "Make an appointment and come and have a look". You get enchanted when you step in the front door….
Location and neighborhood are beautiful! A walk in the park and forest is easy. The Broersepark is around the corner and if you cross the road at the end of the street, you can walk into the Amsterdamse Bos. With a few steps you are out of the city and into the forest on your way to the goat farm or the Open Air Theater.
The shopping strip, with local shops, on Amsterdamseweg is the ideal location for daily shopping. The shopping and entertainment center Stadshart Amstelveen is a five-minute bike ride away. And, not to forget, primary schools and sports facilities are also nearby.
Public transport is excellent: you can reach Station Zuid in just twenty minutes by bus and fifteen minutes by bike. Do you have a car? In five minutes you can drive to the ramp for the A9, which will be covered to a large extent in the near future.
