We have enjoyed living in our house over the past twenty years. This is the house where our children grew up and we liked the quite neighbourhood where our three children were able to play outside and later exercise in the Amsterdamse Bos. The neighbourhood has broad sidewalks and a large modern supervised playground around the corner. Furthermore, there is a lot of nature and the Amsterdamse Bos is within walking distance.
The group of residents in the area is a good mixed. There used to be many first residents and now more and more young families with children are moving here. It is also a popular area for expats, mostly with children. There is a wide range of primary and secondary schools in the area. Also the International school is nearby.
Our house is within walking distance from the tram to the WTC and Amsterdam-Center, but you can also reach Leidseplein in twenty minutes by bike. A large supermarket is located within walking distance with kiosks for food and drinks.
The house has a spacious front and back garden, so you can enjoy the sun all day long. The backyard can also be reached via a closed back alley.

MVA neighbourhood information: Buitenveldert-West

Buitenveldert is the most southern part of Amsterdam South. The neighbourhood has a lot of contrasts. Buitenveldert characteristics itself by the amount of space and green facilities available in the area. There are many facilities and shopping centre for example the Gerderlandplaza. The houses are relatively big and the neighbourhood has many above-average aged people. The neighbourhood scores well on the safety scale. Although the safety is good, the social cohesion isnít that strong. The Zuidas part of Amsterdam is a dynamic area, which is in full development. Originally the focus was on making this part of Amsterdam a high level office complex, but now the focus is more on making it a residential area. There arenít that many inhabitants yet, but the new building concepts are designed to improve that. There will be an elementary school and several other facilities available, which will make this part of Amsterdam a unique location.
