In a fantastic part of Amsterdam, in the popular Plantage neighborhood is located this characteristic building from 1888. This ground floor apartment with basement is located on private land, and has a living area of no less than 120 mē. This house with authentic details offers the presence of a basement (with private entrance) many possibilities. Currently there is a charming B & B established in the basement, here rests a business function but can be converted to residential use.

Through a private entrance with draft portal you reach the spacious hall with storage cupboard, toilet, space for washing machine and dryer and access to the living room and bedroom. Nice detail is the original panel door with characteristic stained-glass window in the hall. The beautiful large windows in the living room will immediately catch your eye and ensure that this room enjoys lots of light. The high ceiling and wood stove complete the picture and create a pleasant atmosphere. The open kitchen is located at the rear and is equipped with various appliances. Again, the window provides extra daylight. From the hall you reach the rear bedroom with a wardrobe.

The spiral staircase in the hallway takes you to the basement. The spacious (main) bathroom with comfortable bath, shower, sink, toilet and underfloor heating is located at the rear.
In the spacious hallway is a very practical and large walk-in closet present.

The separate B&B 'Hide & Sleep' has a living and sleeping area, kitchenette, modern bathroom with double sink, double walk-in shower, floating toilet and separate storage room. Here too, the au-thentic details such as the wooden beams, herringbone floor and stove provide a warm feeling. It is noteworthy that also this room has large windows which also makes it very bright. From the basement is a (small) courtyard accessible.

MVA neighbourhood information: Weesperbuurt/Plantage

this area is known as the quiet part of Amsterdam Centrum. Amsterdam East is an environmentally friendly area with canals and important cultural buildings. These characteristics make this part of Amsterdam ideal as a residential area. Unlike downtown this area consists of many young couples who are starting with their careers. East and the eastern islands and the old harbor-area is still relatively vacant, but that will change in the upcoming years with the Weesper- and Plantagebuurt still in development.

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
