Description
Fantastic and quiet living a stone's throw from the centre of Amsterdam! There are houses you will fall in love with just because of their looks. This is one of those houses! But the inside is also very attractive. The house has a living floor and a basement (with a business function), which currently houses a B&B. The house (1888) has retained many authentic elements and offers the new owner plenty of creative possibilities. Will a dream come true here?
About the neighbourhood:
This unique house is situated on a quiet avenue, where the neighbours know each other, in a quiet, young populated area in the center of Amsterdam. You live here at a stone's throw from the center with plenty of parking space. In the Plantage neighbourhood there are several restaurants, cafes, parks, museums, schools, the university, shops, theatres, the cinema, etc. So you have all the city amenities right at hand here! Living on the Plantage Badlaan means living on a beautiful, wide, green avenue. With the Plantage Muidergracht on one side and the zoo Artis on the other, you can hardly believe that you are in Amsterdam Centre, especially when you hear the animal sounds from Artis, or when you relax by the water in the park on the corner. Bus and tram stops are close to home and you can cycle to Central Station in just over 10 minutes. The A10 ring road is easily accessible by car, providing access to motorways to all parts of the country.
Layout of the house:
Living floor:
Through the stone porch you reach the authentic front door. Entrance with draught door to the hallway. The draught door has a stained glass window. Hallway with wardrobe, panelling and panel doors, stairs to the basement, storage closet, toilet with connections for the washer and dryer, access to the bedroom and the living room with open kitchen. The cozy living room has two beautiful windows at the front. There is a wood-burning stove. At the rear the kitchen is situated. The kitchen has copper-coloured fronts and the following appliances are available: an oven (Smeg), a dishwasher (AEG) and a 5-burner gas cooker (ETNA). You can place a separate fridge/freezer, if desired. In the kitchen is a window for daylight. In the living room is enough space for a nice sitting area and a spacious dining table. There is a cork floor with extra insulation, the walls and ceilings are neatly finished. At the back of the hallway you have access to a bedroom with a fixed closet.
Basement:
Through the open spiral staircase you reach the landing of the basement. This space is also very attractive. Here you will find a stylish, large bathroom with bath, luxury shower, washbasin, floating toilet and underfloor heating and a spacious walk-in closet. In a closed part the Bed & Breakfast 'Hide & Sleep' is situated. This room contains a master bedroom with exposed beams, a wooden floor and a stove and also an en suite bathroom with double shower, beautiful washbasin with two taps, and a floating toilet. You will also find a simple kitchenette here. In the room you have access to a small outside area. The basement also has a connection for washer and dryer. The basement is accessible from outside and has its own entrance.
Under the stairs of the porch in the basement, you will find a storage room with electricity.
