What do I have to know?

Location; the house is centrally located in the attractive Transvaalbuurt surrounded by the Oosterpark, Frankendael park and the Amstel river. The Beukenplein and Oostpoort shopping center with a diverse range of shops (for fresh fruit and vegetables you can visit the neighbor), caterers and restaurants are nearby. Several cozy restaurants, cafes and other entertainment venues can be found within a short distance, such as: Spaghetteria, Pazi, Rum Baba, Louis Louis, Bar Bukowski, Hotel Arena, C Amsterdam and IJscuypje.

Entrance; from the street (with a charming green area in front of the door) you have the front door which you share with the neighbors that are also located on the ground floor. Access to your own apartment from the shared hallway.

Ceiling; the house has a high ceiling (3 meters high in most places), which gives you a very spacious feeling.

Kitchen; the kitchen is cleverly placed in the living room, leaving room for a large dining table. The modern kitchen is equipped with built-in appliances; gas stove with extractor and oven, microwave, sink and dishwasher.

Bathroom; by Amsterdam standards a spacious bathroom with bath, shower, double sink and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a modern finish with white and dark gray tiles. Both the toilet and the washbasin are separate.

Bedrooms; there are two well-sized bedrooms, both located at the front of the property.

Garden; from the living room, with patio doors to the garden, you walk straight into the beautifully landscaped garden of approx. 30 m2, which is located on the northwest. The garden has been lovingly laid out by the current residents and is currently decorated with beautiful spring flowers. Depending on the position of the sun, you can get the sun in the garden at the end of the morning until late afternoon / early evening. Can you picture yourself barbecuing?

Own ground; big plus, the building is on its own ground (so no leasehold).

More information

MVA neighbourhood information: Transvaalbuurt

The Transvaalbuurt lies between the Transvaalkade, The Wibautstraat, The railroad Amsterdam, Muiderpoort and the Linnaeusstraat. There are few green facilities, but there are several initiatives from the inhibitants to create some more social gardens. Most buildings in this area are styled by the Amsterdam School, with special details. This neighbourhood is one of the areas which needed to be renewed and that is what happened. The extra effort made sure that the quality of living in this area is increased.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Apartments

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. In case of an apartment, you do not only have neighbours to your left and right, but often also above or underneath you. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
