Rijnsburg

Rijnsburg is situated in the Bollenstreek (the Flower Bulb Area) and is known for its cultivation of flower bulbs and the fact that FloraHolland, a big marketplace for flowers and plants, is located here. The village is part of the municipality of Katwijk in South Holland. The Grote Kerk (Big Church) is an important part of the village. It was built in 1577 with materials from a church on the Dorpsstraat in Noordwjk. You can sip a cup of coffee on the village square while enjoying a beautiful view of the Queen Wilhelmina Tree. This tree was planted to celebrate the 18th birthday of then still Princess Wilhelmina. Therefore the tree has a special significance to the inhabitants of Rijnsburg.
