The Stationsstraat, is located on the dike of the romantic river 't Gein and is "one of a kind". The dike leads you from the old village straight into the beautiful nature of 't Gein. The street is one of the five most characteristic streets of Abcoude and breaths a typical 19th-century village atmosphere. That’s also why almost all buildings at the Stationsstraat are officially protected village scenes.

In 2011, at about 100 meters from the house, a railroad aqueduct was built to preserve the unique nature and character of 't Gein. Due to the construction of this aqueduct, the house is within walking distance of the train station, however the presence of train traffic is hardly noticeable at a short distance.

Abcoude is a town in the province of Utrecht. It lies about 13 km to the south-east of (the centre of) Amsterdam. Abcoude is located in ‘the green heart’, and home to the Ronde Venen, which provide magnificent cycling, hiking and sailing opportunities. Abcouder lake has a direct connection by water to Amsterdam and the Vinkeveense and Loosdrechtse lakes. Since way back, Abcoude has been situated on the water and road links between Amsterdam and Utrecht. This has had an impact on the village. In times gone by, many travellers stopped with their coaches and barges to alight in one of the stops, which still exist.
