The complex was completely renovated in 2008! You know for sure as soon as you arrive. This is the place where you want to live for years to come! Everything is well maintained, the atmosphere is excellent and the place is fantastic. The storage room right next to the house makes it complete!

De Pijp is characterized as a young and lively neighborhood with a charming architectural style. A lot of fun can be found in the countless (eating) cafes and restaurants. The Albert Cuyp market (around the corner), which can be visited 6 days a week, also determines the atmosphere. In addition to all the fun, De Pijp is easily accessible by train (Amsterdam South / Amstel / RAI), several tram connections and the De Pijp metro station a stone's throw away. By car you are on the ring A10 within a few minutes.

History "De Pijp"
The new district that arose behind the Paleis van Volksvlijt around 1900 was officially called Buurt YY, but was soon renamed De Pijp. The new district quickly developed into a vibrant district. Several well-known Dutch writers rented a room here, such as Herman Heijermans, Frederik van Eeden and Bordewijk. Eduard Jacobs laid the foundation for Dutch cabaret in De Pijp. The district was soon known as the "Quartier Latin" of Amsterdam and it still has that reputation. André Hazes has always sung here and he has been immortalized by means of a statue on the Albert Cuyp.
There are several stories about the meaning of the (nick) name De Pijp. In 1892, De Pijp was compared to a pipe drawer in which long, wide pipes lie, which early in the morning 'cloud' people 'blew out' people on their way to work. However unclear the origin of the name is, everyone now speaks about De Pijp and everyone wants to live there ...

This building has a stone entrance on the first floor. The stairwell has been recently renovated and is neat and clean. Entrance on the third floor.

The frames and doors at the front are made of hardwood, which gives the building a beautiful appearance. The spacious living room is located at the front of the apartment. This space is very light, because of the large windows and the French doors to the French balcony. The unique curved walls, which extend from the living room to the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, make the entire apartment feel very spacious and playful. At the rear of the apartment are the kitchen, complete with built-in appliances, and the bedroom. These two rooms have access to the very spacious balcony / terrace on the quiet garden side. This covered balcony / terrace, located over the entire width of the building, has a terrace size of over 10 m²!
In the hall, next to the bedroom, is the neat bathroom, including a lovely bath. The toilet is separate and can be reached through the hall. The entire house has a beautiful wooden floor made of solid parts. In the stairwell, on the same floor, is a storage room where the central heating and washing machine connection are.

MVA neighbourhood information: Nieuwe Pijp

De Pijp is vibrant and very much on its way up. As can be expected of an area that is centred on the nation’s most famous outdoor market Albert Cuypmarkt, this Amsterdam neighbourhood is famously diverse with over 150 nationalities represented. By the time the NZ-lijn underground metro is finished, De Pijp’s gentrification process should be complete with the always strong student population giving way to yet more families of young creatives and professionals. Albert Cuypmarkt Yes indeed: the Albert Cuypmarkt is not only the ‘kitchen of Amsterdam’ but also the place to witness the city in action. There are also many hidden treats to be discovered: innovative buildings built on the principles of Theosophy.

Amsterdam is the largest Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, and the nation's financial, business, cultural and commercial capital as well. Since its founding in the 12th century, Amsterdam has evolved from a small fishing village into one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. Museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk also give Amsterdam serious cultural credibility. Amsterdam's compact size, cycling lifestyle, diverse population (more than 170 nationalities), English-speaking natives, abundance of green space, reliable public transportation system and central location within Europe mean it's not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.

Buying an apartment in Amsterdam is different from buying a house or a detached villa. In case of an apartment, you do not only have neighbours to your left and right, but often also above or underneath you. That means the ground on which the property is located belongs to multiple people. This can lead to complications when you’re trying to figure out the extra costs before buying the apartment.
