Description

This special object has many names, some call it a farmvilla or the Gerssen house after the architect, we in the Beemster call it the Pyramid. A unique home, an architectural object in a prime location in the highly sought after Zuidoostbeemster. Just a few kilometers north of Amsterdam.

The Gerssen house is a strict mathematical design based on a half cube. The structure is created by dividing a cube into two equal parts on a plane perpendicular to an internal diagonal. The base of the house is a regular hexagon. It has three equal roof surfaces to ground level and three similar triangular glass fronts.

The electric gate gives you access to a spacious front garden with parking for several cars. The house is very spacious and light with many surprising sight lines. The house was already designed by the architect as a life-course house and therefore offers a spacious bedroom with bathroom on the ground floor.

On the second floor a further two spacious bedrooms and a full bathroom. The house dates from 1982, has recently been completely restored and equipped with the most modern conveniences. Behind the house is a second home, also fully equipped and adjacent to a large terrace with outdoor kitchen and jacuzzi. Suitable for b & b or home office.

And then the deep backyard of 40 meters deep, where part of the traditional fruit orchard has been preserved. Wonderfully sheltered and because of its depth a day long sun, from early morning until the evening falls. In the back is a garden house with a canopy.

The Zuidoostbeemster is one of the four districts that make up the Beemster Polder. In 1612 the Beemster fell dry and the development of the polder could begin. Roads were built, ditches were dug and farms built. All this was done according to an orderly and tight geometric pattern. De Beemster owes its fame to this rational division and layout. Drainage de Beemster has been a world heritage site since 1999.

The town of Purmerend is within walking distance and the accessibility of Amsterdam is less than 20 kilometers by public transport, car or even bicycle.

The extensive photo report gives you a good idea of ??the layout and location of the object. If you would like to gain your own impressions, we invite you to make an appointment for a viewing where one of the brokers of Tromp Garantiemakelaars will give you an extensive tour of this unique object.

De Beemster

De Beemster is the country’s first and most famous polder: in 1612 a lake was drained and the low-lying land was reclaimed. Today it is widely recognised as an exceptional example of town planning, with its well-ordered waterways, geometric structure and ordered settlements. The Beemster is a Unesco World Heritage site that’s an oasis of scenic polders, waterways, dikes, restored mills and charming, traditional farmhouses. Some visitors explore the area on foot or by boat, but bicycles are the preferred method of transportation around these parts.
